Drop-in wedding, June 14th 2025

On June 14th it’s finally time for our annual drop-in wedding day at Skansen!

You are welcome all dressed up or in your favourite sweat pants, alone or with the whole family – this day is all about you and your love for one another. All you need to bring is a valid ID and a certificate of No Impediment.

Marriage fee is 2 200 kr/couple. Entrance to Skansen is included for the wedding couple.

The wedding entrance at the Skansen main entrance is open between 10.00-15.00 and the ceremonies keep on going until all couples that entered before 15.00 are married.
This year, the ceremonies will take place in the beautiful Rose Garden with a stunning view over Djurgården and Stockholm. King Oscar’s Terrace will during this day of love be transformed into a celebration area – come by before or after your ceremony!  Here, you will find our information booth, drinks, snacks, music and loving ambiance all day long.

How it works:

  • You enter Skansen at the main entrance at the booth marked Wedding Entrance to register, get a queuing ticket with a unique number and an envelope with some practical information about your big day.
  • At the wedding entrance, you show your ID and Certificate of No Impediment (containing 2 sheets, “Hindersprövningsintyg and Intyg Vigsel”) and let us know if you want a civil och church wedding. If you want a church wedding, you also need a marriage form (“Vigselblankett”), certifying that one of the parties is a member of the Church of Sweden. Your can apply for this with your home congregation
  • Show your pre-bought ticket at the entrance
  • Wedding guests pass through Skansen’s regular entrances and pay a regular admission ticket. We recommend that your guests pre-purchase their entrance ticket to get into Skansen faster, but they can also buy their tickets at the Skansen entrance.
  • Once you have entered Skansen, make your way up to the wedding terrace (King Oscar’s Terrace) by following the colorful stones showing the way.
  • If you have special requests regarding language, accessibility or if you are more than 20 people in your wedding party, please let us know at the information booth. If you don’t have any special requests, you do not need to contact the information booth.
  • Outside the information booth, your number will be called. Remember to keep track of your queuing ticket.
  • When it is your turn, our staff will take you to the spot in the Rose Garden where your wedding ceremony will take place.
  • We have both civil and church officiants on site and staff to help witness if needed. The ceremony takes about 10 minutes.

You might have to wait a while before it is your turn. Waiting time can vary between 30 minutes up to a couple of hours. While waiting, you can enjoy the celebration area at the Wedding Terrace, make birch leaf wreaths, or visit nearby cafes, bakeries, and the cozy town quarter.
